A beautiful large katana-sized tsuba from the Katchushi school, crafted during the Momoyama era, circa late 16th century. It incorporates an interesting motif design, with very fine Buddhist Sanskrit in sukashi
mixed with silver inlays.

Composed of beautiful well-forged iron, it features a rich & lustrous smooth deep dark grayish-black color/patina, and is covered with silver zogan on both sides. This tsuba exhibits fine workmanship, is in excellent condition with no damage of any kind, and comes with a box (box not pictured).
