A fine large tsuba from the Higo Hayashi school, crafted by the 2nd Hayashi Shigemitsu, son of the school’s founder. It incorporates a distinctive motif design of Yatsuhashi - eight bridges and iris.

Composed of great iron with a rich and dark patina, the tsuba exhibits exceptional workmanship, is in an excellent and beautiful condition, and comes in a deluxe custom fitted box.
