A beautiful large Akasaka tsuba, crafted during the early Edo period, circa 17th century. Composed of a very well forged fine & thick iron plate, this tsuba features a classic famous Kiri-Mon design/motif, made up of well executed sukashi with very fine details. Tekkotsu appear on the mimi/rim.
Very lustrous in appearance, this tsuba exhibits a rich & very deep dark chocolate brown color/patina.
Truly beautiful, this tsuba is in an excellent well-preserved condition, with no damage of any kind without question.
