Large & superb sukashi tsuba

Jidai (era) : early-Edo ca. 1650 

Material : iron with original old black lacquer over-it

Sizes : 8.2 cm  x  8.0 cm 

Condition : great color & condition

Comment : its a good & pleasing strong tsuba.

Great composition with a symmetrical design of two crashing waves & two half Kiku/

chrysanthemums.

The tsuba exhibit some fine iron bones & laminations around mimi/edge & most of its original black lacquer still remain.
